We had 3 assists tonight. Three. That's like....hard to do.

Then again it's hard to get an assist when you can't shoot. 2-17 from 3. And this was against a sub par defensive team. As Lee Corso would say "yo!".

This season is a lost cause. Of that we're now well aware. The question is, can SP save enough confidence and teach enough to carry something...ANYTHING over to build for next year. Coaches can weather a horrendous season like this as long as they find ways to improve, build and bounce back. I hope like heck Saul figures that out or his daughter might not be graduating from Athens HS after all.

If this team didn't snag Kirk in the late period they might not win another game.
Yikes - three assists? My mind goes to Major League when Harry Doyle says:

"Let's see, one hit ... that's all we got- one Goddamn hit?"

"You can't say 'Goddamn' on the air."

"Don't worry, nobody's listening anyway."

I agree with your thought that it's probably time to find something to use to salvage positives out of the season to carry over into the summer and next year. A starting point might be to get Butler and Gareri, no matter how rough it might be at first, more minutes to use to develop them for next year.

Saul has assembled quite a squad.
It isn't just who he has assembled...it's how he is coaching or not coaching them. They are playing Y Ball. Mickle has turned into someone who looks literally like he is going to hog the ball and "get his" because he's graduating anyways. Kirk looks like he thinks he's D.J. Cooper already. Dartis and Laster have to be in pain because neither will shoot the darn ball. Even Frye had a step back 3. Tell me Dartis couldn't make 3 out of 10 step back 3s in a game if he took them? Gareri and Gollon look like they belong as managers.
From the guy who thought we had ten all MAC players back in the summer. Did you forget your meds again?
Find me that comment where I stated 10 All-MAC guys. I love how much you contribute to this board. Your insight is...wait..non-existent. And I think your "meds" comment shows what a great representative of Bobcat basketball you are. Stay classy.

Painful game to watch yesterday. No sense of urgency at all from this team. We shot poorly and at times looked as if we were hesitating on open looks. Taylor needs more touches to stay active in the game. Kirk is the only player being aggressive and at times players are standing around watching Kirk. We need more ball movement. This is what bad basketball looks like playing with a busted up team. Recruiting has to get better. We are settling for players that are projects and injured players coming in the door. Too many guys have sat on the sidelines that should have been rehabbed and back on the court these past couple years under Saul. Injuries come on all teams it’s next man up. Might have to look deeper in the bench and expect players to step up their game. Why did we sit on open schollie this season looks like this has come to bite us in the butt.

Not to rehash but they still have the young lady working. Looking at their board they are lamenting her delivery...

Odd that the poster is from Indy...

Wow. That girl sideline reporter was BAD. She froze up and then stuttered and then repeated the same thing 3x and still couldn't speak. Looked as if she was crying. Feel bad for these girls. They are not ready to be live on camera.
