Saul knows how to get the kids ready— but tonite a loyal Bobcat had the big job

How many of you remember a skinny kid from Harlem that played for Danny Nee; Billy Hahn and Fran Fraschilla.. He passed the ball to Rob Tatum for the huge NCAA win in Fla

Ok - you win....... My man PAUL BARON got the job done. He still has his NYC accent but the man still Bleeds Green & White

Ask one of the coaches or one of the kids- all will laugh but the LOYAL BOBCATS get it done again

Sat ny and talked to Paul during the game and re introduced him to Coach Hedric and a bevy of Redskins he played against. They were warm and welcoming. Paul had some post game comments for the kids as well. He is Cat through and through. Love that guy. Always a good ambassador and mentor... with that Brooklyn accent and choice language he is a motivator.

First came across Paul Baron before he was a Bobcat as I was around his great high school coach at famous Arch Bishop Malloy H.S We were busy recruiting their kids trying to break down the underground railroad that ran between Queens and South Carolina. Brian Winters, all-american for Frank Maquire at USC. Point guard Bobby Carver excellent player at USC, and many many more Division 1 outstanding players. We couldn't convince Brian to flip to Clemson and he beat our butts for 3 years before he went to the NBA! Danny was a Power Memorial grad, (Lew Alcindor) and had connnections to Malloy and coach Jack Curran and the rest of Paul's career at Ohio is history! Paul was a classic NYC point guard who made the player's around him better.
Great to visit with him in Millett Hall last night. Paul is a Bobcat!

Having gone to Ohio from ‘81-‘85, I was always a fan of those players from that era (and Coach Née obviously). It’s always great to hear the great players like Paul Baron still invested in their alma mater after all these years; makes me feel less of a weirdo for wearing Ohio apparel all the time.

Anyway, great story and it’s super to hear that Baron’s still involved!
