Just heard a news report of a shooting on the campus of CMU.

Not much information.

Apparently it may have been in a dorm.

2 people dead and the shooter on the looses.

James Eric Davis, Jr. has been identified as the suspect, 19 years old. Victims were not students and reports are that it was domestic dispute.

Thoughts are with the victims and their families.

As a sidebar, WMU is supposed to play at CMU tonight, and the MAC wrestling championships are up there this weekend. More MAC students in harm's way.

Not that there’s ever good news in a situation like this, but they’re saying the victims are not students and it was a domestic type issue. The good news for campus is likely the threat is over since the guy got his targets (what caused it to spill into a dorm at CMU if they’re not students, who knows). But until they apprehend the guy you have to err on the side of extreme caution.

They postponed the game, and intend to make it up (so it basically has to be tomorrow if it will affect seeding/travel)

He apparently is a CMU student and killed his parents when they came to pick him up for spring break. http://www.themorningsun.com/general-news/20180302/search...

Read in another report that he had spent the night in the hospital because of a drug related incident. Not exactly sure what that means or if it's accurate though.

Read a report that his parents were picking him up to take him to rehab.

Apparently it’s also leading into their Spring Break, so it was probably a dual purpose pickup. I know the school was directing parents there to pick up students for break to a nearby hotel during the lockdown.
