I would think this would be an attractive opportunity for an up-and-comer. School seems to have realistic expectations for the program and would likely be patient to build it up over several years.

Seems to be some buzz around Iowa City about luring Darian DeVries way from WVU.

I also wonder if Ben McCullum of Drake is on Beth Goetz's shortlist.

Iowa Men's Basketball was pretty stale under McCaffery, arguably the third most popular winter sport for the Hawkeyes after women's hoops and wrestling in recent years.

Ben McCollum you ARE an Iowa Hawkeye.

(But after Drake makes a little run in the tournament here, I bet he has quite a few suitors.)

Also, what about Calhoun - former Youngstown coach? Went to Utah State, 26 wins in year one. Has them a 10-seed vs UCLA.

A little outside his roots, but could this be a John Groce landing spot if he’s able to guide Akron to an upset or two?

After his success at Illinois, this would be a great steal for Iowa.
