Really like the Jackson Peveletzke addition.

Seems like he's a great player at our level, and a so-so one at Iowa State's. From his numbers, it seems like the three point shooting translated but the efficiency as a pick and roll ball handler didn't.

His numbers at Woffard as a freshman were very, very good. Seems like a very high upside pick up for us.
From the highlights I've seen at both Wofford and ISU, he's pretty good at getting into the paint and had a nice floater. His drive and dish game might be better than his pick/roll.
I think of the pick and roll ball handler's job as being to get into the paint and create when an open shot's not there. So totally in agreement.

He reminds me of a little bit bigger version of Ajay Sheldon with maybe a bit more control. I hope this doesn't deter Ajay from staying or competing. I love Ajay Sheldon and while I don't see him being a 1,000 point guy, he is definitely someone I want to finish up as a Bobcat. This kid may steal some of those minutes. Now we just need to add two more guys with at least one of them being an inside difference maker.
They look like pretty different players to me. AJ uses 71% of his possessions from behind the arc, where as Peveletzke uses about 35%. Peveletzke seems to score at all three levels, where as Ajay's really just a 3 point shooter at this point in his career.

What I like about Peveletzke is that he's got good length and seems like he can play onball or off.

I don’t think it takes away anything from Sheldon. He’s way too good from 3PT range to not get minutes on a team that needs it, even with the addition of Paveletzke. Getting the two of them on the floor with Clayton is going to be fun. Plenty of shots to go around.
I sure hope you're right. Obviously guys can still go to the portal but with additions we have the following players I would think would be regular rotational guys and they'll need minutes:
STARTERS
Shereef Mitchell
Jackson Paveletzke
AJ Brown
AJ Clayton
Aidan Hadaway
BENCH
Elmore James
Ajay Sheldon
Vic Searls
Ayden Evans
NOT READY YET
Ben Nichol
Jesse Burris

ANNNDDD...we still have to schollies left.
After being redshirted, Nicol will be ready. Burris is a redshirt year away.

And to think, a few days ago people were sweating from their balls, thinking that we couldn't get anybody. And Boals isn't finished yet.

Exciting times in store at the roundhouse on Richland.

I'm eager to see Burris on the floor. He will more than likely need a rs year - always a risk these days. I think we have a huge log jam of guards - obviously we did last season too and half the team got hurt, BUT he is a tall shooter. Lord knows we can use both. He might find some minutes at the 3 that I felt like Ike would have.

Boals has done a solid job on the guard front through the portal with Jaylin, Shereef, and now Paveletzke. Still need more size. That’s what he has to hit on this cycle.

PG was a need obviously. This looks extremely promising on paper and with the video on him....especially going back to Wofford. I see he's from Wisconsin and I wonder if there are any BVP ties?

Alright....time to go get the portal big.

Prediction: BA posters will call for a 10-man rotation in the pre-season. Boals will end up giving 7 players, maybe 8, solid minutes by conference time.

In that case Evans should redshirt. No need to burn up a year of eligibility if he will only see much action vs Otterbein and Defiance.

I thought he’d land higher. We’ve seen two bigs jump from lower D1 to parallel schools between Smith and the Niagara kid going to UNCW in recent days. It should be doable for us.

I am happy with Paveletke. With his addition, I have no interest in Gray. I didn't have much before because I just don't like guards without a solid outside shot.

The way I view the movement so far - Paveletke is the Jaylin Hunter replacement, Sheldon is the Miles Brown replacement, and Burris is the Sheldon/Cornish replacement. And in the frontcourt Searls is the Wiz replacement.

The addition of Paveletke loads up the class of 2026 even more. We could see a rotation of 3 seniors & 5 juniors and not much else. It will be interesting to see how much of a chance Burris & Evans get.

He is from the same area as Tyrese Haliburton (Oshkosh/Appleton area) so I figured that connection may have led him to Iowa State. BVP is also from that same Fox Valley area so it is possible? All 3 were different towns but within a half hour of each other.

I'm not sure I see a tight 7-8, though that would be awesome to see some definitive stepping up from the top of the roster.

Otherwise, I have zero issue with 20-25 mins for 10 dudes. I don't think we have a Mark Sears on this team. Though Reef played almost 30 mins last season. Interestingly, Hadaway played 37 mins vs Akron the last game of the season.

Now that I'm rambling, if everyone stays healthy, I can see 30 mins from the starters... if healthy.

1 - Reef
2 - Elmore
3 - AJB
4 - Hadaway
5 - AJC

--

6 - AJS
7 - Jackson
8 - Wiz (is he on the team still or what? Are we just speculating? Cause I haven't seen him officially in the portal?)

9/10 - Nicol, Evans, Searls

I don't think we can redshirt Evans. He didn't turn down SEC offers to come be 10th man or redshirt behind Victor Searls. I hope he separates himself immediately and is the first big man off the bench, though my expectations for Wiz are BIG. 3rd year. Prove it season. Otherwise you're just taking time away from Evans.

I too have cooled on Gray. To me, Hadaway was the AJB replacement and earned his way into starting throughout the season. AJB replaces Miles Brown, Sheldon remains Sheldon, EJ4 remains EJ4, Nicol or TBA wing replaces Cornish, Searles replaces Wiz, Evans or TBA big replaces Ezuma. I don't think I see the immediate minutes for Burris.

But no Wiz on there at all.

Oh wow, you're right. I didn't even notice and I just checked to see if the new additions were on there (they're not). Wiz and IJ are the only ones missing.

I really hope that means there is a big plan for Evans and he can grab it with both hands.

Given how much EJ4 fell off after his injury and his inability to shoot the 3, I do think Jackson has a better shot at starting. Likely at the 1, Reef 2.

Gray would be an interesting (agree not necessary) piece with Jackson, but more of our staff and roster has since followed him since yesterday's commitment. Mike C (video coordinator), Ayden, and Estis.

Sure feels like we're still courting him.

Yup...I like Jackson better at the 1 and have Reef play 2. And the great thing is Sheldon can get solid minutes off bench at either 1 and 2. I think that's a pretty good rotation there.

I think there was a 4-6 game stretch when, before his injury, Elmore was one of the top performers, if not the top performer, on the team. I’m hoping that after the added time to recover he gets his mojo back and makes the “who are the starters” (and, more importantly, who gets the minutes) discussion even more difficult for everyone.
