There is no way the kid from Idaho is coming off the bench. Here's my starting lineup...
Mitchell
KDA
Ledegen
Javan
Makitan
Bench and my guess on average minutes in order.
Burris
Bogran
Kuany
Portal Guard
Mosely
Icke
Bowens
Wait...are we going into this season thinking Walking Bucket is going togarner the most minutes coming off the bench?
Good question....are you aware of another guard on our roster besides an unknown Australian? Will Mitchell and KDA Average 35+?
I hear ya, but if Walking Bucket is leading our bench minutes, we are going to have serious issues.
Right on. I'm not advocating for it. He averaged 10 mpg last year. I don't think he goes backwards in minutes this year simply because we are light on guards. If we disregard Kelly/Elliot who sort of swapped roles after Elliot's injury which makes their full year mpg look similar, the next highest mpg off the bench is only 13.4 mpg in Breath. I think it's plausible he's in that range.
I hear ya and the thinking all makes sense. Rooting for Walking Bucket to make a quantum leap from freshman year to sophomore year....but I don't have confidence it will happen. Hope Walking Bucket proves me wrong.
He'll have the opportunity. At his size, I'm more confident he can settle in and find shots, at least pretend to play D more than someone who is 6'1". The lack of primary ball-handlers was my thinking behind Mitchell being first off the bench. Mitchell and Burris running 1-2 on the second team. Can transition into the line-up without big shake ups. Che is/was a point-forward type. Think he could be a big SG next to KDA. Although that tends to be my wishful thinking than what Boals does.
PG - 6'1" KDA
SG - 6'5" Che
SF - 6'7" Siebe
PF - 6'7" Simmons
C - 6'9" Dusan
That's some solid size and athleticism.
6 - 6'1" Mitchell (PG)
7 - 6'9" Kuany (PF/C/SF) (Can see him starting over Siebe)
8 - 6'5" Bucket (SG/SF)
9 - 7'1" Icke (C)
10 - 6'7" Mosley (PF)
Hard to guess what Icke can do at this point. Mosley looks like he's been practicing and is ready to contribute, but Boals isn't much of a 9-10 deep guy, so minutes will be game by game, but for the first time in a long time it looks like we have a true 2-deep at every position.
