I thought it was interesting Logan Adams seems to think starters will be Che, KDA, Siebe, Kuany, and Javan. I think he might have missed the Kolton Mitchell commit.

First glance imo, Mitchell swaps with Che and Dusan swaps with Kuany. But I also thought Breath was going to potentially start this time like year.

I think with Mitchell brought in, it pushes KDA to the 2 since he’s more of a scorer/playmaker than facilitator. We’ll be undersized at the guard position with them both starting for sure.

Again, I’m just assuming they’re both starting bc one averaged 19ppg and the other led his team in scoring and to a tournament game. Che, while an intriguing commit, doesn’t have the proven background at this level in comparison to KDA/Kolten.

So, with McKinney gone, we have a possibility of 3 roster spots to fill?

There was only one schollie remaining after Moek's committment. So, there's technically 2 spots to fill. Summer workouts started today. Who knows if we'll see both used at this point or not.

Ohio basketball Instagram has recent summer workout vids/photos. Somebody got in Simmons ear. He’s lost weight and put on muscle.

I believe the roster stands at 11 scholarship players, 1 walk-on, with 3 spots open. In the past the team has only utilized 13 scholarships and 2 walk-ons. With that it would appear there are 2 scholarships open and 1 walk-on spot open

They have video and some pics up of the team. They do this every summer and every summer I get excited at the potential! D'Augustino looks huge. Simmons looks thinned down and Mitchell looks bigger than I thought. Mosley looks like a guy who has been busting it the past year so I hope he can be a part of this team. Guessing he was told as much because he stuck around. Bowens is rail thin still which won't help him.

Can Bowens handle the rock well enough without getting his pocket picked to play some at the 2 spot? Unless Boals pulls a rabbit out of hat and brings in a late bloomer h.s. guy or juco or whatever, that might help with depth.

I was a little surprised we didn't go after the Westerville kid that went D-2. He was a prolific 3 point shooter? The Division II state and district Player of the Year, McCree averaged 20.0 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.3 steals last season. Also skinny as a rail. Beyond skinny iirc.

Call me crazy but here is what I am hoping for this team and if it comes to fruition or better, I think we can be pretty good:
1. D'Augustino and Mitchell are at least a poor man's Reef and Hunter combo
2. Ledegen is at least Senior Ivo
3. Javan is Toledo Sophomore Javan
4. Dusan is scrappy but cleaner version of Craptain Chaos
5. Kuany is Jon Smith Lite
6. Icke is athletic Wiz
7. Mosley is more powerful TJ Hall
8. Burris is Travis Wilkins
9. Brogan is more athletic and taller Tommy Schmock
10. Bowens is NOT any of: Fisher, Khari Harley, Wadley, Khadeem Green..you get the picture

2. Ledegen being senior Ivo wouldn't be ideal. That was Ivo's worst season outside of his freshman year. Sophomore Ivo would be a much better result.

Outside of Kuany turning into Jon Smith, these guys just need to play their game. No comps necessary because outside of Hall/Smith, none of these players were part of overly successful teams.

It's hard to get a feel for all these international guys we are bringing in, but Dusan seems like the biggest "sure-thing" to play big minutes next year. He is already 21 years old and averaged a double-double playing 30 minutes a game in a European professional league.

Sure, the Bosnian league isn't the highest-tier of European basketball, but playing against grown men in Bosnia including some NCAA graduates is pretty incredible for a "freshman" with 4 years of eligibility

I'll have what you're smoking.

I look at this roster and I see 2.5 sure things: Simmons, KDGA, and Mitchell. While Reef and Hunter individually were good, I wasn't in love with them on the floor together, and I feel the same way towards our two new transfer guards. I don't believe either are better than Pav, but I am willing to bank on them being an improvement offensively than the combination of Pav and Sheldon.

I have good gut feelings towards Ledegen and Dusan. I think they are starting and impactful, but truth is they are a mystery.

Bowens, Brogan, Mosley, and Icke are complete unknowns. Found money if any of them make an impact.

Until we fill at least one of these scholarships, the season, to me hinges on Kuany and Burris being good sixth men/fringe starters. Burris needs to be a reliable knock down shooter. How long has it been since we had a true "uh-oh" three point shooter? Dartis? Can Burris be that guy? Kuany has the tools but just repeatedly got lost on defense and that' gonna keep you on the bench.

Usually when we go into the season and I perceive a weakness, that weakness comes to light. We need a utility guard. A Ric Johnson, Whitney Davis, Mike Laster. We don't have one right now. What do we do when one of our guards goes down with an injury? What about two guards?

Shabamon -- outside of being a small backcourt, what are your reservations on the KDA/Mitchell combo? I've posted in other threads, but Mitchell had as many win shares as Pavs last season. I still think Pavs was the better player, but that margin is smaller than it appears.

KDA is a clear upgrade over Sheldon. If Siebe and Dusan (I share similar thoughts) are starting alongside the two with Javan, the dual 6'1 backcourt seems less problematic.

I haven't seen any new tidbits and/or follows of the staff outside 2027/28 prospects in recent weeks. I can't tell if we're done or not, but I'm hoping for some additional guard depth as well.

Burris, Che, Mitchell are your assortment of 2G. Mitchell will rotate primary ball handler with KDA.

Burris also has experience (hs, summer league) at PG.

Che's tape has a lot of him bringing the ball up the floor.

As long as one of KDA and Mitchell remain healthy, we can figure it out.

Do we need another? Maybe. Would he look at our depth chart and stay away? Likely.

I wouldn't expect another meaningful addition.

I think we have more than enough - and as much as I hate the idea of Mitchell and KDA on the floor at the same time, folks around here seem to think its a lock. That might leave our 2nd group a little thin on ball handlers, but 5 mins here and there shouldn't be too much of a hurdle, I would hope.

Looking at practice pics, anyone know who this guy in the 5th slide is? Thought it might be Moek at first but it doesn’t really look like him.
