Cats were down 5-0 early but turned it around by the ninth. Currently lead 11-5 and still batting.

A 10 run 9th leads to a 16-9 win.

What do we know about UNC Asheville? After the last few years, any success is good, but just curious what type of competition they represent.

I don't follow the baseball team here but I unknowingly sat next to the new coach at a recent UNCA MBB game and he was talking to an alumnus about the major rebuilding process that needs to be done here and unfortunately other programs in the Big South have better facilities, better recruiting etc.. UNCA Finished 13-40 last season, 16-35 the season before that.

Bobcats sweep UNC Asheville!! 3-0 When was last time that happened? Sure Asheville is not a national powerhouse but a win is a win and right now this program needs wins! We are never going to play top notch teams in the early season until the Ath. Dept. starts putting some money into the travel budget. Top level teams don't play in the cold weather locales. How about we fly to Florida and play better competition. Softball flys to warmer climates.

VERY excited to see this. The 9th inning comeback in the opener is incredible. In baseball, a road sweep is an accomplishment no matter the opponent.

Batters walked 17 times and only struck out 9 - Hope they can keep that approach up, though I realize much of it may be related to UNCA pitching. Jake Madsen may not be the most powerful cleanup hitter but that kid can get on base and doesn't miss often. I noticed Logan Cozart struck out 8 in 3 perfect innings of relief Saturday. Yowzer. Did he increase some velocity this year?

Excited to see how they handle 3 different opponents in Tennessee next weekend.

I'm excited by this too... Even if UNCA is bad, beating a bad team three times is much better than losing to a bad team, which is what the last two years have been.

It's been too long since I've been to the Wren. I hope to finally rectify that this year.
