WE did not cancel the game!!! Otterbein had to reschedule a conference game that was rained out. WE found what is probably the only team within a couple hour drive that was available and willing to play on Wednesday. I just don't understand why people try to make us look bad on here.
We found a pud to beat on, Coach Smith and many on here said we'd never play these schools. Now we are playing a bad NAIA team. Next week, maybe we can get Ohio Valley Christian or southeastern business college. If that won't work, I'm sure we can get some nursing students from Daymar College who played high school baseball or softball.

Just wondering what rival school Billy is trolling from.  Sure likes to bash the Bobcats!!  My guess is either Rogers State University or Berklee College of Music. ( both called the "Cats")  Students at either of those would have very little experience in athletics.

Bobcat through and through, just disappointed in the results in this program, in injuries and attrition.

in all fairness this isn't unusual scheduling. With all the rainouts athletic directors earn their money this time of year trying to schedule makeup games out of conference. This has been a bad year weather wise already so I am not surprised to see a game with Otterbein on the schedule even if it was cancelled. The cancellation just proves how bad the weather has been. If it gets rescheduled I might come watch it as I follow Otterbein sports. I would be willing to guess the card coach is friends with someone at Ohio, they played the bobcats twice in the late 2000's.

there have been a lot of good players come through NAIA schools. Garcia at Ohio Dominican and Belcher at Mt. Vernon Nazarene just to name a couple. That being said, Rio Grande is bad.

Because we are bad. Actually, we're worse than bad. We are likely the worst team in Division I and likely the worst in all of Ohio (any level). This is a trainwreck of biblical proportions. Rob Smith is making Semeka Randall look accomplished right now. If we care even the least bit about baseball (and I honestly don't think the administration does), Schaus will move on ASAP.

It's not just the administration. Just look at the low number of people who post on this board. Do more that just you care? Mostly BillyTheCat, Catdude, Catfan28, and a few who were not happy about the Carbone situation. I also think that could have been handled better.

After reading the on-line article of the Messenger, I will give Coach Smith credit for his attitude at this time, he understands that we have to just keep working and not let this season roll over to future seasons.  He's a new young coach who has things to learn, hopefully he is going to make those adjustments going forward.  And starting with allowing kids to play summer ball if they want to.  If they don't and want to stay on campus and practice that's fine, but the kids need a chance to compete against better competition if they want.  That was my problem with just practicing and intersquading it all summer.  Our own level of competition and pitching was not great, I saw no benefit of that decision then, and I am seeing NO dividends of that decision today.

Want to increase interest, winning of course, but do away with all these evening March and April games, that drives more students and community members away than it brings in.

Losing streak is over with a 10-inning, 3-2 victory against Toledo. Bobcats led 2-1 going to 9th and gave up three straight singles with two outs. Madsen doubled in the go-ahead run in the 10th and Cozart closed it out.

At least we haven't had any of our own fans declaring the MAC should drop us for producing such a pathetic season and such poor results the last couple years as there have been when discussing other schools in another sports on here for similar performances  - with the exception of EMU football of course. ;)
