Bobcats take out Redhwaks 9-6 in the series opener. Everybody in the lineup had a hit and 5 had multiple hits, not to mention Miami booted the ball around the infield a bit.

Unfortunately, CMU, Kent & Toledo all won as well. We are 2 back of CMU with 2 to play, so best we could do is tie for the overall conference. 1 back of Kent, and 1 ahead of Toledo. Guaranteed a top 4 finish. I believe BG/Akron/WMU/Ball St are all virtual locks to be in the 5-8 seeds so our opponent for the 1st game will be one of them.

It would be nice to at least tie for the division title, but more than anything, I'd just like to see Ohio continue to play well going into the MAC Tournament.

Safe to say Smith wins Coach of the Year?

Ohio lost 7-6 today, Toledo won and Kent State lost. CMU won to clinch the regular season MAC title. Kent State is up a game on both Ohio and Toledo. If things stayed as they are now, Ohio would be the #4 seed by virtue of losing 2 of 3 to the Rockets. If the Flashes lose, Rockets lose and the Bobcats win, Ohio would be the #2 seed, winning a head-to-head tie with Kent State. Toledo has the tiebreaker on both Ohio and Kent.

Nothing better than crushing Miami 17-5. The win, combined with Toledo's loss, means Ohio will be the #3 seed. Unfortunately, Kent State won in extra innings to win the division and take the #2 seed.

The Bobcats face #6 BG in the opening round of the MAC tournament in the opening game Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
