Entering today's finale tied with Kent State and only a game behind Akron for the East lead with a series against the Zips coming up next weekend.

Attended game on Saturday afternoon, great win, team was pumped. I have one comment however, I would wager a bet that we are the only DI baseball team with a DH that is hitting .163. Then the DH is pinch it for by a guy hitting .167 There are guys on the bench with better averages, better on-base averages and more experience. I don't understand the philosophy here.

I can't say for sure, but there's a lot of other factors besides just batting average. The coaches must have thought he was the better option in that particular situation.

Ohio lost 9-2 today in the finale. It was a close game early but it got away from the Bobcats late. Akron also lost today, so that puts the Zips and Golden Flashes at 9-6 and the Bobcats at 8-7 in the MAC East. Ohio and Akron play a series in Athens this coming weekend.

Big Series! - needed that. Too bad for the BG series or we could be sitting in a first place tie. Need to grab a sweep somewhere to make up for that one.

True, but we were fortunate to even win a game in the BG series as we were another 9th inning rally away from being swept. Salvaging the BG series was a decent result all things considered.

After shutting out Eastern Kentucky 6-0 last night, the Bobcats face Rio Grande tonight.
