11 game road trip to start the season begins NEXT FRIDAY. Hope the weather cooperates.

The team has been great about posting to their social media accounts, hope it continues during the year given it is difficult to get much coverage on the team.

Should be a great season, I am most excited to see the Junior (& likely final before being drafted) season of Mitch Longo. I have to think he will be focusing on developing more power this season. The lineup overall should have similar production. The SP trio of Miller/Sitz/Rudnicki is the absolute catalyst.

Go Bobcats!

Weather looks good. No rain and lowers 60s in Asheville, NC, for the weekend.

Bobcats score a bunch of runs late and take a 12-5 win over UNC Asheville to open the season.

Win 14-8 today to head to 2-0. This offense is going to be fantastic.

The Cats are walking way too many batters through 4 games.

8+ will not get it done. Has to drive the coaches nuts.

I'm sure it will get worked out over the course of the season but this is not the start I was anticipating.

Agreed, the walks have been out of control. 44 in 6 games spread out among damn near everyone.

Sitting at 3-3. I'll say it again, the lineup is deep and gonna be great. The pitching needs a few to step up.

What a bummer of a week, outscore opponents 34-27 and go 1-4 including 2 extra inning losses. Luckily they are just non-conf games, that would really sting in the MAC. Home opener Friday. Rain rain stay away.

I'll just continue this discussion with myself...

Love seeing a win in any sport in Huntington, then took 2 of 3 in the home opener. One more week of OOC games before conference play next weekend.

Perhaps concerning, but moreso encouraging to me, that Mitch Longo hasn't really got it going yet. He hasn't been terrible or anything but is not living up to last year and is still homerless. It'll come.

On the flipside, the extremely light hitting defensive specialist Tyler Finkler has exploded with the bat this year. I'm hoping it will stick but you've got to figure some regressions is coming.

Freshman Rudy Rott has looked great at the plate and has started most every game. Ardyan is mashing and DeJesus is still being a great lead off hitter. I think this lineup will do really well in the MAC.

Sitz/Rudnicki/Miller have all struggled to throw strikes but are managing it and doing OK. Those 3 remain huge keys to the season.

It seemed the pitching this week was much better than it has been, which was positive. The Bobcats allowed 10 runs in 4 games. Seven of them were in the lone loss. Even the weekend before in the Wofford series, it appeared better than the first couple weeks when it seemed the pitchers gave up 7 or more runs in 5 of 7 games.

A nice road series for the Bobcats, taking 2 of 3 against Purdue, and it very well could have been a sweep. The loss in the second game was in 15 innings. The Bobcats host Youngstown State on Tuesday before opening MAC play on the weekend at home vs. Northern Illinois.
