Ted, haven't the Baseball Bobcats earned above the fold front page exposure on BobcatAttack under the "Upcoming Games" banner?

We've been over this before, this is a basketball and football site that was nice enough to add a few other self-sufficient boards. Nothing wrong with that.

OK Monroe, take a few weeks off and learn some programming language so you can revamp the website from it's original design just so everyone can see a game coming up on the schedule that you already know about, and only suddenly care about because the team is winning. And don't forget having to worry about updating game times and scores for 50+ games per year, that'll be a nice little 2nd job for you. Then you might as well start prepping the Women's Swimming & Diving module of the website now for when someone complains about their coverage in the future.

I would think that regardless of the original intent of the site that upcoming games of significance would be added. One would think that an NCAA game would qualify as a significant game.

We use a content management system and can't just add things to the site without significant programming. I would certainly add the game if it were possible.

Baseball is having an unbelievable season and we're doing what we can to support them (see Lonnie's photos).

Thanks Ted. I appreciate the fact that you put that in layman's terms that even guys like Mike, OCF and I can understand. And you're right about Lonnie's contributions and coverage.

No complaints from me. Anybody who follows the board can find out game times pretty easily from the forums. Plus there are a ton of daily articles linked daily with that kind of info. I appreciate whoever updates all of the stuff around here (something most of us wouldn't volunteer do)

Ted, please don't take my post on this thread as a slight. Full disclosure, I'm computer challenged and didn't realize that it would take a re-programming. Fully appreciate all your efforts in sustaining and maintaining BobcatAttack! My post was meant to be light-hearted banter and nothing more.

Go Bobcats!!!!

Alan, while I'm not on Ryan's level, I maintain a number of websites myself and have built several from scratch using at one time a program called FrontPage but more recently using a content management and web-site building system called WordPress. I know some HTML and just a little php. So, while I'm not a professional website designer on Ryan's level, I'm not a website illiterate either. Don't just assume because I'm a geezer that I'm a computer illiterate. That would be ageist! ;-)

No, I took it in the manner intended. Just thought it was an opportunity to explain why we sometimes can't be as flexible with the site design as we'd like.

This content management system that Ryan built is as good as you'll find. On par with Wordpress, actually better, in my opinion. It has made updating this site on a daily basis so much quicker and easier. I think I would have retired long ago without it. I've actually showed it to a Wordpress developer and he said "damn, that's good." And I've had the good fortune to have it for over 10 years. Just amazing what Ryan did.

Go Bobcats!
