As a famous Ohio broadcaster used to say, "How about that !" What a team effort by our Bobcats. Great starting pitching the entire tourney, power hitting, amazing defensive play, smart baseball, did I mention Clutch relief??
Could we be lucky enough to play someplace close like Louisville ?? We will know at 12:30 Monday.
Way to go Bobcats! MAC Champions !

did you have to quote Jimmy Crum ? He was a broadcaster for that other school.

Jimmy Crum attended Ohio University after serving in the Marine Corps. I'm not certain whether he formally graduated, but I know he was one of the first on-air talents at the campus radio station that eventually evolved into WOUB. He went from there to Channel 4 in Columbus.

Thank you very much for the information on Jimmy Crum. I do appreciate the correction. By all means then "How About That". I hope he didn't buy his suits in Athens though.

Jimmy was a Bobcat for sure. That is why I used his favorite expression to describe our baseball Bobcats ! During his long stint at Channel 4 as the voice of that other team up in Columbus, he always made a point to mention his Bobcats when something newsworthy was happening in Athens. Hopefully he did not buy any of his sport coats at former Bobcat basketball and baseball player Fred Cluff's Baron's men store !!

Crum was a definite Bobcat and even spoke at the Green and White Club banquet a couple times as the honored guest. He was also a close personal friend of many great Bobcat coaches. Funny how some still get their underwear in a wad.

Perhaps things like this fuel that hate?

Posted on a website I found when searching for game times:

Louisville Regional

Bradley vs. Michigan, 1 p.m., ESPN3

Louisville vs. Morehead St, 5 p.m., ESPN3

Champaign Regional

Notre Dame vs. Wright State, Noon, ESPN3

Illinois vs. Ohio State, 7 p.m., ESPN3

Just checked the Ohio Alumni Directory. Crum graduated in '52.

I always think of Mel Allen and This Week in Baseball when I hear "How about that!"

Maybe Mel Allen is where Jimmy got his signature line ! I am sure that he would be giving Ohio an emphatic "How about that" as he reviewed our season and the road to the 2015 MAC Championship ! The 'Cats were not able to come up with the clutch hitting needed to win games in the regional at Illinois, but that should not take away from their fantastic turn-around and MAC championship.
Lots of key seniors to replace with the loss of this class, so hopefully recruiting will get a boost with this turn-around season !
Good luck to Coach Smith and his staff as they hit the road searching for more kids that can keep the momentum of the 2015 season going forward .
