Buffalo cuts its baseball program for budget reasons. Off the top of my head that is Wisconsin, Temple, Duquense, Akron, North Dakota, Iowa State and others. I have been saying this for a while but I dont think baseball will exist in the same capacity for most G5 programs and many Northern P5 schools in 10-15 years. I can see a lot of schools having club baseball where you pay to play.

It is really hard in the north, no doubt. The weather challenges Buffalo faces are a lot different than Athens, though. I wouldn't be surprised if the directional Michigans and maybe some other more northern MAC schools go this route. I don't want to see it, but if the trend does occur and hits the MAC and Horizon pretty hard, I think the easy solution would be for the remaining (& probably more southern) MAC & Horizon schools to join and form a conference. Mid-Horizon? MACizon? HoriMAC? Definitely not HoriMAC.
