3B Colin Kasperbauer is 1st team all MAC and Catcher Mason Minzey is 2nd team all MAC. I was a bit shocked to not see Isaiah Peterson's name...but that probably speaks to the depth of the outfield in the league. Eddie Kutt was the pitcher on the all-defensive team. Unfortunately all 4 players I just mentioned are Seniors.

Apparently they do not do an all-freshmen team but if they had, I have to assume AJ Rausch would be on it.

My nephew was named the Defensive player of the year. He plays 3rd base for Ball State. I tried to get Ohio interested in him when he was in high school but nobody cared. His little brother who is a junior just committed to Wright State last week. We missed out on two good players. My nephew was 2nd team 3rd baseman after Ohio's player.

I've seen the recruiting board in the coaches office plenty of times. They recruit freshman all the way up to uncommitted seniors (maybe even 8th graders these days).

Offers for top priority players are going out potentially end of 9th grade into 10th grade. I was offered my first scholarship in 10th grade and didn't receive an offer from Carbone until the end of my 11th grade summer heading into 12th.

Landing a scholarship at a school of choice is tough, especially in baseball where there are only 11.7 to give out.

I'd also add that the summer team/schedule is a huge factor as well. I was lucky enough to play on a strategically built club where all 9 position players were D1/D2 scholarship players while the pitching staff was built up of all uncommitted juniors that were in the midst of being recruited.
