Bobcats with a really nice 5-1 win over a solid Ill-Chicago team. UIC just took 2 of 3 from Cal last weekend and was 30-18 last season.

Peterson continues to be an awesome leadoff hitter, scoring 3 of the 5 runs. Baker was on the bench for this one. Bobcats benefits from sequencing in this one making the most of their 7 hits.

Next 2 are against Evansville in this round robin weekend.

Jacob Tate has a 1.23 ERA in 3 starts. Kutt is at 3.31, so those two starters have been great, but Jack Liberatore has been bad (12.75 ERA). Manis and Kelly have been good bullpen arms. Overall, the pitching has been encouraging.

Peterson is hitting .400 and has scored 11 runs in 9 games. Colin Kasperbauer is hitting .500 in 7 games. Another four or five other guys have hit solidly or better. A few guys who played regularly last year are off to slow starts.
