Bobcats take just 1 of 3 against Ball State. 3 very close games and all relatively low scoring by our standards. Some good signs on the pitching...good starts by Dillon Masters & Jacob Tate. As suspected after much success in long relief, Tate was finally given a chance to start and pitched into the 7th in the victory. I have to imagine they stick with this.

Bats have cooled facing the stronger pitching of Indiana/Kent/Ball St. Kasperbauer is still really really struggling, a fraction of what he was last season.

Bobcats are in 4th just a half game ahead of WMU. It is unlikely either Ohio or WMU will catch the 3 seed and also unlikely anyone else sneaks up for the 4 seed. SO obviously this weekend series at WMU is HUGE. If we can take 2 of 3, we will be sitting very good. If we take just 1 of 3, we still have a solid chance because we finish with not-so-good Akron while WMU finishing with very good CMU. Getting swept would make things tough.

With the imbalance in games played, I am unsure what happens if we finish a half game ahead of WMU but lose the head to head with them.

Would've been huge if we could've taken 2 of 3. Going to be quite the finish to the season. Let's see if the pitching staff can step up and give us a shot at the 4 seed.
