The potent offense got shut down by the Kent ace and went down 6-1...Usually when our pitching keeps them to 6 we feel pretty good. Unfortunately they have one more ace for us tomorrow/Sunday. Just hope we can sneak one win out of our visit to Kent.

Kent also just took out Ohio State on Wednesday, by the way.

Swept and served a heavy dose of reality that we probably aren't Championship contenders. Almost pulled one out yesterday after the starter (Olson...our supposed #1) was tagged for 6 in the first but didn't quite complete the comeback. Bats were cooled by a strong starting trio from Kent. Team ERA is now at 7.99 and I am pretty sure if we isolated the ERA from just the started it would be over 10.

Need to find a way to get 1 or 2 against Ball State at home.

From a first-place tie to out of the top four in a single weekend. Western Michigan (13-7) has passed Ohio (13-8) for fourth place.

Remarkable to say the least. I'm not a fan of the 4-team tournament, 8 seemed pretty much flawless.

Remember we finish with Akron. WM has to play Kent, CM and us. I like our chances for the last four. I am not sure about our chances in the tournament.

I was apart of the 2015 MACC team and nobody thought we would make any noise at all in Avon. Ended up dominating the rest of the MAC (including a the only MAC tournament no-hitter in the semi's) and swept our way to the first MACC since '97.

All we need is a bid and anything can happen after that.

I appreciate the sentiment and yes, especially with baseball anyone can win.

BUT...it feels extra unlikely this year when considering our non-existent top end pitching compared to that of the other top teams in the MAC.

I hear ya, that's typically the case every year with Kent, they simply are able to obtain better talent than the rest of the conference, especially pitching.

I wish there were still 8 teams in the tournament, makes it tougher on everybody to manage pitching and an upset is typically sprinkled in there at some point.
