Bobcats take 2 of 3 in Dekalb. We have now played possibly the 2 worst teams in the MAC (4-2) and arguably the best team in the MAC (1-2). 5-4 seems OK, 6-3 would have been better. The meat of the schedule now begins with lots of similarly talented teams.

The Bobcats gave up 10 runs in the 1st in game #2...and WON 16-12. In fact we regained the lead in the 4th inning. Mitchell Hemmen was the starter of the disaster, the kid who had our only win last weekend. Something tells me we try something different next weekend.

AND in game #3, the Bobcats gave up 7 but there was no comeback to be had. Spoon started that disaster but actually stayed in the game for 4 innings.

Friday was our cleanest pitching performance, 6 innings 2 runs from Olson and 3 scoreless innings from Tate.

Alec Pitino had a huge game yesterday with 5 hits and is having one hell of a season. Pitino, Sturek & Minzey are all comfortably over 1.000 OPS. Kasperbauer got it going a bit this weekend too.

On to Eastern Michigan.

A few take-aways from this series:

1) With this lineup, we're never out of a game. Down 10-0 after 1 inning and they came all the way back to win? College baseball is wild.

2) Imagine where this team would be if we got the team ERA down a few points.

3) NIU's pitching situation is worse than OUrs.

If we did get our ERA down and with the hitting core we have - we can go places come May.

We gotta earn a spot first, a lot of season left. Getting 2/3 against EMU would be huge and I think that's very doable.
