Very exciting there will be baseball playing on Friday. Bobcats in a 4 team round robin in Wilmington. It looks like it will be available to watch on FloSports. Weather looks good. Will be interesting to see how the team looks at first glance, go Bobcats!

Things went about as expected this weekend, losses to UNCW (14-10) & Virginia (8-4) and a ridiculous 27-9 win against Navy. Navy walked 16 (!!) and gave up 20 hits and committed 4 errors. Frankly they are lucky it wasn't 30+. Amazingly our #3 hitter Colin Kasperbauer managed to go 0 for 5 (with 3 walks) in a game in which his team scored 27 runs.
Seems like we always have plenty of offense and the competitiveness comes down to if we can find 3-4 reliable starters and opening weekend indicated maybe more of the same. Junior Luke Olson (transfer in from CC) was good, 5 innings 1 BB 1 run. Sophomore Zach Weber held his own against #19 Virginia, 4 innings 5 runs 0 BB. Brenden Roder got lit up for 9 runs in 2 innings.
Looks like the weather should be OK enough for the series against a theoretically comparable Western Kentucky team.

Looks like the Bobcat football team early in the season last year in games against Fordham and Akron -- great offense, not much defense. The defense in football got better as the season progressed, let's hope holds true for baseball team as well.
