Greg Beals, former $tate coach from 2010-22 was hired at Akron replacing Reds great Chris Sabo - led Buckeyes to under .500 record in 21-22 leading to him being fired. Have fun with a huge ego Akron!

Beals kicked our butt when he was the head coach at Testicle Tech. He is a guy a lot of people I know enjoyed playing for. Ohio State has struggled since COVID-19. He’s a former MAC player who never came across as someone with an ego.

Sabo had a miserable run doomed to fail from the beginning restarting the program from scratch. I believe their scholarships are all still privately funded. That is a tall task in Akron, Ohio...

Explanation for why Beals has a huge ego - My father played baseball for Ohio State from 92-96, and had the privilege of being honored as part of the '94 Big Ten Champions team at a game. He got to meet Beals, and my dad said he came off as very egotistical / cocky talking about the team at the time (they were sub 500 at that time). It didn't surprise him at all when I told him the news of him leaving Kron out to dry. Sucks for Akron - their program is in shambles.

I love Bob Todd a ton. Also have gotten to meet him, great guy. My dad has said he was an amazing coach to play for. Hope he's been well in retirement.
