Since it's never too early for some good old fashioned conjecture and hearsay....anybody have any ideas on what the starting line-up will look like next year? I, myself, didn't get out to as many Bobcats games as I would have liked last year and really have little to no idea what it would look like.

Why ruin potentially a great football and basketball season by thinking about baseball this early?

Baseball was terrible last year and they lost like 7 of their top 10 players. So, yea...

Lineup

______
______
Streich
Barnes

Rotation

Moulton

Yea, I know more starters are returning, but it's not like they did anything to keep their jobs without question for next season.

Based on summer ball, the pitching should be much improved.  I would say the weekend starting pitchers would be Moulton, Choban and Trimbur.  As far as position players go....Gecewich, Streich, Voshell, Barnes, Backstrom, O'neill and then some newcomers into the mix.  Buckeye scout has 5 of our recruits in the Top 67 in the state so there should be some healthy competition...

You can't really look at summer ball. Night and day.

The lineup is becoming a little easier to project as the season is less than 3 weeks away.

C/DH Voshell
C/DH Kyle Dean
1B Streich/Backstrom/Emody
2B Barnes
SS O'Neil/Keen
3B Ward
RF Gecewich
CF Newton
LF ???

SP:
Streich
Moulton (when healthy)
Trimbur
Barber

The biggest question as who's starting is at SS and LF/RF. Both Dean and Ward have been impressive for freshmen. Streich has been hitting 92-94 on the gun and working hard on his offspeed pitches. Newton is a seedy lead-off hitter. Stole 40+ bases last two years at JUCO. Pitching is looking solid all around. Choban hitting 90 from the left side with a good breaking ball. Two LHPs Paliotto and Robin have made solid progress and have looked good early.
