Cats took two from Marshall today, two good wins! And the Cats are off to their best start in a few years. Was a great day to be at Bob Wren! Let's take two tomorrow!

I was just about to comment on this. First off I love beating Marshall in anything so yesterday was a great time. Four runs in the ninth is unreal. And this has definitely been the best start I've witnessed since I've been in school (3rd year). Should there be reason to get excited about this team as the season progresses? I don't follow baseball as closely as the other sports but maybe someone can lend some insight?

We're hosting several home games this year, that in my opinion are great in terms of in state posturing. I know that north of the Mason Dixon programs aren't usually operating in the top tier of the college baseball but I think wins at home against Xavier, Cinci, and a series win against Kent give me more to cheer about than I have in my first two years at school (baseball wise). Not to mention that we host Ohio State for the first time in what has to be at least 10 years? That game against the Buckeye's has me excited for so many reasons. It would be great if we could reign in a W against them in a men's D1 sport after our recent struggles. You've got to start somewhere right?

Yes! This is a pretty exciting team with a good mix of youth and vetern guys. 3B Dan Ward was the top rated incoming freshman by Baseball America in the MAC. Fr. 1B Taylor Emody started off raking, has cooled off a bit, but is a great talent. JUCO OF Jensen Painter has big time power and JUCO CFer Ethan Newton is very fast and is very good defensively. Seniors Bryan Barnes and Trace Voshell are both off to great starts with the bat,

Don't be fooled by the pitching stats, there is talent on the mound too. All three main starters, Seth Streich, Matt Robin, and Brent Chobin have very good stuff. Freshman Tyler Stage has been a shut down reliever as well.

Good players on this team and I opnly expect them to improve as the season goes on and into MAC play since they will get to play and practice outside more. Come out and see!

I really like the way Ward is swinging the bat so far

3 of 4 on the weekend, good early season series win against a CUSA program.  I admittedly only stayed for a few innings on Sunday, just a tad chilly, but these guys maybe fun to watch if they keep progressing.

Boomer Moulton threw a CG, 7 hit, 1 run game in his first start of the year. Outstanding performance, good to see him back on track after struggling his first few outings in relief. 'Cats now have 4 legit weekend starters, a great asset to have, especially come MAC tourney time.
