This can be the only explanation he only has 1 at bat this season.

This guy is 6'4" 220lb sophomore coming off his freshmen season hitting .299 (last year the bobcats hit .269 as a team).  He started 44 games last year and has yet to start one this season.

I can only assume he's injured or something is nagging him.  This is the only logical explanation.

For a team that is currently hitting .202 and only put up 2 runs against MTS CC, you would think you would want a hitter in the lineup.

Now if Streich is going to DH all year, and the Freshmen Madsen is going to play 1B all year, Embody needs to taught a new position, or Streich needs to actually play one when he's not pitching.

If this is what your plans were for him, he should have been redshirted until Streich gets drafted and leaves,  or let him transfer, because I'm sure some D1 school would want him and play him everyday.

But hopefully he is just hurt and that is the explanation.

I don't think you meant it this way but this sounds really bad.

Not hurt,  we have 7 1st basemen on the roster, why???  who knows.    Painter was moved to 1st base from outfield so that freshmen could get playing time in the Outfield.  Coach is playing a freshmen at first too,,,Emody was recruited as a 3rd basemen but moved to first to get Ward playing time last year.  We currently have another frshmen playing 3rd, hitting .125    Emody hit over .300 in the MAC last season, batted 3rd or 4th in the lineup, was 4th on the team in  Avg., runs scored, and RBIs and fielded .980.  Seems like a lot of production to be riding pine.

Sorry to clarify, I do not wish anyone to hurt, but that would be the only logical explanation why he isn't in the lineup everyday.  If he was hurt, then it makes sense he isn't playing.  If he isn't hurt then we obviously aren't putting our best product on the field.

Wait, what happened to Ward?  He's not on the roster?  He was only a freshmen last year right?

What's the deal with Ryan Burgett being a volunteer assistant this year?  He was a pitcher that last 3 years and is a senior this year.  Why is he not playing?  Did he blow out his shoulder or something?

Maybe, just reading the website, looking at the roster and stats, make things way more dramatic than they seem, but the weirdest stuff seems to happen to this team.

Anyways, if anyone knows anything, it would be much appreciated if it was shared.

I was trying to find Dan Ward on their roster, but couldn't find him on it.

http://www.njcaa.org/colleges_college_roster.cfm?sid=8&am...

I was able to find Ryan Bores however.  Looks like he is at Kent State

http://www.kentstatesports.com/sports/bsb/2011-12/bios/bo...

He's started 2 games (11 Innings) with a 1-1 record and a 3.27 ERA.  Looks like he lost to Georgia Tech and beat Lipscomb.  FYI - the loss to GT was 6-2, gave up 3 earned in 6 IP.  GT was preseason ranked 12th in the nation by Baseball America, and are currently ranked 10th.

We could sure use him.

p.s. Was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 26th round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

after yesterday's loss, we have scored 5 runs in 5 games.

Think its time to put in your best players and let them hit.  This offense is a complete joke.

No kidding.  Play to win.  Hate to see this with such a promising team.  Great returners and some good freshman.  Come on Bobcats - get it done!

It's a good thing ward transferred, carbone would have found a way to bench him for one of his pet projects anyway.

You would think, bringing in freshmen classes with 10+ new guys a year, eventually you would be experienced at least every 4 years.

I TOTALLY AGREE! PLAY TO WIN? This is COLLEGE! There are players on the team that haven't even been in a game yet! What I have seen so far isn't a winning team by a long shot. A BALK in College ball? Really?

2 JUCO transfers (jrs.)  one hitting .100 and has committed 6 errors already, and has started every game  ---  another hitting .000  0 for 9 with 3 errors in 8 fielding attempts.   WHY do we go out and get theses JUCOs???  and how long do we let them play until there are changes??

As a team we are hitting .231.

without Dean, Madsen, Streich, & Painter the team is hitting 39 for 228, which is a sizziling .171

take away Black's unimpressive .238 average and we are hitting .156.

Is this effect of having no Coach Malinowski work with our hitters?  Maybe we shouldn't have fired him.  We went from bad to worse.

I would also like to point out that Otto has started every game and is hitting .100 with 12 k's (30 at bats).  He strikes out 40% of the time, to go along with his .885 fielding percentage.  This guy doesn't do it in the field, or at the plate.  what on earth is he contributing to this team exactly?  I was so thankful when Wes O'Neill's eligibility was up, but looks like we went out and got another one for 2 more years.  If my memory serves me correctly, we haven't have a non juco play SS since Bryan Witt in 2006.  Maybe its time to get someone who can play that postion and contribute a little bit in the lineup as well.

Also, while we do have an impressive ERA of 3.05 which is very uncharacteristic of Ohio Baseball, we have managed to throw 14 wild pitches and hit 16 batters.  Meanwhile our opponents have only thrown 1 wild pitch and hit half as many batters.

I'm still trying to think of the last really solid JUCO we had who made an impact his first year. Brian Colopy maybe? Unless I am totally forgetting someone the last couple years.
