Congrats to the Flashes for their big win!

Great to have another MAC team make a post-season run, defeating some name programs in UK and Purdue in the process.  Both of those teams had strong regular seasons.

Good luck in Eugene!

The last was Eastern Michigan in 1976. Also made it to the CWS in 1975. The only other MAC teams in the CWS have been Ohio in 1970 and Western Michigan in 1952, 1955, 1958, 1961 and 1963.

KSU DH Nick Hamilton is the son of Ohio alum Wendy Philbrick Hamilton, and has battled through some very serious hearing problems.  Dad is Indians play-by-play guy Tom Hamilton.  Great kid and great family.

Golden Flashes to the College World Series. Jimmy Rider with a one-out bloop single down the left field line to easily score a runner from second in the bottom of the ninth inning, 3-2. It was the third one-run game of the series.

Fun Series to watch.  Glad tonight's was a 7 0'clock game.  I didn't think they would pull this one out, but just like that it was won!

Unranked Arkansas knocks off fourth-ranked Baylor, 1-0, in 10 innings and will be Kent State's first-round opponent.

What an epic win for KSU. Hats off to them! I am totally impressed with the top to bottom talent on that team. I see no difference between the starters and bench for KSU to any other team still in it. That is impressive. 27 players from Ohio and 9 from Pennsylvania. Doesn't hurt to have the greater Cleveland Area to keep players close to home. Rooting KSU all the way!

Congratuations to Kent State

Anybody notice the entire Oregon field is field turf except for the pitchers mound?

The batters box is still "perfect" on the last play and you can see the white fiber strands.  Looks like the same rubber pellets you see on a football field.

It took me until the middle of the second game to figure that out. You'd think that would make sliding more dangerous. And it seemed to kill the balls that were chopped out of the box.

I still am amazed that Oregon didn't have a team from 1982 up until 2009.

Most field turf fields are like that at the college level. Appalachian State is the only field I've seen with dirt around the plate.

Schoonover Stadium in Kent has first-generation Field Turf but dirt on the mound and home plate area.  Cost just under $1 mil to install back about five years ago.

Thanks for the great support you guys.  It's great to make a run like this on the heels of your amazing hoops run!

Go MAC!

Good luck! Would love to see our new coaching staff lead us to actual MAC contention in baseball in the near future.

Not going as well today, 3-0 Arkansas in the 5th.

Arkansas' pitcher is filthy.

Coach Scott Stricklin is an Athenian.  Not sure anybody has mentioned it.
