Only 2 behind Kent with a very favorable schedule. Tough loss in Game 3 against Ball State, but still have a legit chance at winning the MAC. Streich is getting healthy and Choban and Moulton are throwing very well. Setting up quite nicely. Not to mention Newton's recent hot streak.

I'll be sold when they play teams that aren't a combined 18-51.
The MAC overall is terrible this year. Ball State played more like a decent high school team than a college team in the game I saw.

I would have to agree that the MAC is pretty terrible this year. Only Kent and Ohio have winning records, and only 4 and 5 wins above .500 at that.
So yea, its definitely a favorable schedule because everyone besides Kent is really bad. Hopefully Ohio can finish strong, get a good seed in the MAC tourney, and steal a 'ship in one of the worst years for the conference in recent memory.

Anything less than a sweep of Buffalo is a disappointment.

1 game out of first. Make all the excuses you want. They're beating the teams they need, that's all you can ask for.

To play Devil's advocate, a good year this year could lead to an increased shot of them staying inside the program for a new coach, which is generally viewed as not desirable.

Not by more than 100 former players that I know.
You must know a ton of people from Facebook.

Do all of your buddies still want Coach Malinowski?

Tough series at BG...Outscore them 21-12 but drop 2 of 3. But a sweep next weekend would pull us even with Kent for 1st. Unlikely, but possible.

Well, the sweep prediction was right.

Ehh, yes and no I suppose.
Yes, as in, this team was not going to compete for a MAC regular season title. The schedule was extremely favorable for them at the beginning of the year.
However, no, because I still think they will slightly exceed expectations.
Besides, this team is young...

Definitely got smacked in the mouth. Hopefully we can finish well with Akron & Miami and have a decent showing in the tourney to have a somewhat high note heading into the "new era."
