Article I saw on Bleacher Report, so take it for what it's worth:

"2012 Stats (AA, AAA): .271/.397/.491, 89 R, 53 XBH (20 HR), 116/85 K/BB (135 G)

A second-round draft pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2009, Krauss is a legitimate three-true-outcome hitter who’s been hindered by a lack of a natural defensive position. However, the 6’2”, 235-pounder can sting the baseball, as evidenced by an .852 OPS in 428 career minor league games.

Krauss was traded, along with fellow 2009 draft pick Bobby Borchering, to the Astros around the trade deadline last season and reached Triple-A with his new organization. He’s a bit of a baseclogger and lacks range at both corner outfield spots, but his bat should get him to the big leagues at some point in 2013—regardless of his organization."

Base clogger and lack of natural position aren't death sentences. They will always find a place for someone who can hit (see Big Papi). If he was a great base runner with a great glove that lacked pop and plate discipline he never would have made it past High-A. He shows up on the MiLB Facebook page occasionally.

This reminded me of one of the more dumber quotes I've read:

"I think walks are overrated unless you can run... If you get a walk and put the pitcher in a stretch, that helps. But the guy who walks and can't run, most of the time they're clogging up the bases for somebody who can run."

Dusty took a bunch of crap for this by the way.

Being on base is never a bad thing, this isn't something Marc should worry about.

Krauss' MiLB run is starting to remind me of the Cardinals Allen Craig. Although Craig hit for higher average in the minors.

In terms of getting an opportunity, Krauss hit the jackpot getting traded to the lowly Astros. They are just not good.

The odds were against him in Arizona, but the prospects for breaking into Houston's terrible outfield or DH spot are considerably higher.

I fear the Astros' decision makers don't respect OBP, which Marc does well. Batting average doesn't tell the story.

Thank you for ruining my day by reminding me Dusty keeps Stubbs at the top of the order every season until Late July!

When Dusty dropped these lines I almost sold the remaining of my 20 game season ticket pack.

Make or break year basically for Krauss. His age 25 season is about to begin, he is on an absolutely dreadful team...if he doesn't get a MLB chance this year, his chance may never come.

He has already reported to Spring Training in Florida. A hot spring could separate him from the pack a bit of fringe AAA/MLB players the Astros seem to have a plethora of.
