Yes, you read that topic title correctly. Ohio hosts Ohio State tonight at 6 at Wren Stadium. Game will also be broadcast on WOUB AM 1340 and ohiobobcats.com

Word on the street is OSU offered to play at their place and we refused. Greater question is why was our field not tapped last night? Are we that poor in pitching we can't play two mid week games? Coach Smith, you going to run from local teams when you are down, don't get mad when they won't play you when you are good. #notCool

Good, I'm glad we refused this.

It sounds like the coaching staff has the best interest of our student/athletes in mind if they were offered and declined a road trip to Columbus tonight.

The Bobcats have classes in the morning and then will bus up to Ypsilanti for a weekend series vs. EMU. Better to practice in Athens, go to class in the morning and then get on the bus during the afternoon for the series vs. the Eagles.

Switching the game to OSU would've required  approximately 4 hours of round trip bus time tonight to go to Columbus and then back to Athens. Or, it would require an extra night's hotel stay and missing classes on Thursday morning if going directly to Ypsi from Columbus.

Disappointing that both times over the last 3 years where OSU was the visit Athens, the game gets canceled. It may just be destined to never happen!

This was about the only game I was looking forward to watching this season...we now return to your regularly scheduled BAD baseball.

Joe than why schedule the game in the 1st place??? The coach makes out the schedule himself (or an assistant), that is a lame excuse you just offered up.

If the game was in Columbus and it was pouring rain there but sunny in Athens, do you think Ohio St would travel to Ohio to play instead? Of course not. So why should we do it?

Yes, and you push the return game next year back to Columbus, happens more than you think in close local non-league baseball games.

The game was scheduled at home with the very reason he offered in mind. You really want to have kids miss a day of classes to accommodate the weather for a non-conference baseball game?
