just 6 days away and there is nothing on this board.  Is baseball dead at Ohio?

Not dead,,, just frozen and buried in 8 inches of snow and ice!!

Lots of pre-season injuries to deal with but at least we are going into a season with a full compliment of pitchers.  Position players need only to worry about playing their position and not heading to the mound to throw a couple innings too.  Looking forward to seeing some competitive ball at the Wren this year, followed by more competitive ball in Avon in late spring!!!

I believe that both Squires are out, Gaertner is out, Nikithser is out, Black is out.  I think all are season ending injuries.  Mostly torn Labrums.  I think all would have been starters.

Catdude, Garrett Black is not injured. I just spoke with Coach Smith last week, and Black is penciled in as the leadoff hitter.

Gaertner & Nate Squires have shoulder issues, Nikithser had issues recovering from surgery on a herniated disk in back in the fall, and needed another surgery. Nick Squires fouled a ball off his eye socket in the fall and is having serious vision issues. Gaertner is the biggest loss, though as the second-best average on last year's team.

Actually, Catdude, you were right. Coach Smith said that Black broke his hand during a workout and will miss a month. So the infield is even more depleted.

How do the backups that will cover for the injured players look? I'm still holding out hope for a good season.
