Batting over .400 with 3 HR and 15 RBI in his last 10 games.  The Astros have to audition him sooner or later.

If Krauss gets the call, I'll suspend my MLB embargo and head to the park.

I saw Justin Maxwell go on the DL and immediately ran to see who they called up, but unfortunately it was Robbie Grossman (who has also been tearing it up and was already on the 40 man).  Just a matter of time at this point, he is no worse than the OF/1B options they have up there.

Looks like Krauss is going to get his first shot at the big leagues!

Astros purchased the contract of OF/1B Marc Krauss from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
A former second-round pick, Krauss has batted .277/.393/.488 with nine homers and 35 RBI at Oklahoma City this season. The 25-year-old will be making his major league debut when he gets into a game. Jun 20 - 6:37 PM

Pinch hit for the Astros against the Cubs today. Struck out, but how great is it to have your first major league at bat in Wriggly field

Krauss had his first major league hit yesterday. He pinch-hit for Carlos Pena and doubled in the ninth inning off Edward Mujica in a 13-5 Houston loss to St. Louis in Houston. It came with one out on the first pitch of the at-bat, a 92 mph fastball and was lined to right field. He scored on a single by Ronny Cedeno.

Krauss had been unsuccessful on his first two pinch-hit attempts and went 0 for 4 in his only start.

Still sitting on just the 1 hit in 12 at bats with 4 K's and no walks.  A little anxious at the plate, and has to be hard to go from playing everyday to pinch hitting every few days.

Do you think Marc benefitted from playing summer league ball when he was a Bobcat? Or would he have advanced his career more if he would have stayed in Athens and taken care of the field.

+1,000

Not letting these kids play summer ball is going to hurt player development, decimate their chances at getting drafted, and ultimately be a drain with recruiting. Anyone with a shot at the pros isn't going to want to play somewhere that doesn't let them play summer ball.

I'm beginning to think Rob Smith's tenure in Athens is going to be more like Semeka Randall's than John Groce's.
