Anyone going to the OU vs. Marshall game tomorrow afternoon? Have heard positive buzz about the next coaching staff. Won't be able to catch any of the action but was hoping someone would be attending to get some insight on how the team looks in its first action. So many new faces to evaluate!

I attended part of the game today. Tight game early, Marshall had pulled ahead 7-3 with a 4-run inning shortly before I had to leave. I don’t know what happened past that point in the game. I’ve looked online and have found nothing about the outcome. OU chased the Marshall starter early with a few early runs. The Cats hit several balls hard but right at fielders. There were a few shaky defensive plays that gave Marshall extra outs and they cashed them in with runs.
I’m the wrong person to comment on new faces. I don’t get to enough games to be super familiar with the team. Hope to change that this coming season.

6 errors, weak pitching, and solid hitting. Sounds like the last few years. Obviously it's very early in the process.

I haven't seen anything on additional fall games. Are there going to be any more fall home games?

I have not seen or heard anything about more games. It is going to be interesting to see how they come out of the fall. My count has them with 12 returners, 17 transfers in and 11 freshman. That is a lot of new faces. Also my count is they are at 40 and believe the new rules are 34 man roster for 2026 season. Suspect they will have some redshirts but wouldn't think they would have 6. Also with the new 34 man roster the NCAA really needs to change the redshirt rules so a player can play in say 5 games without losing an entire year of eligibility. The whole making any appearance equals a year of eligibility for baseball is ridiculous. Plus with the smaller rosters coaches could use some flexibility. Seems like the goal for this year will be to show improvement over last year and find a foundation to start building upon.

They play against my nephew and Wright State this weekend. I think my brother said two 7 inning games.

That is great. Some more live games can only be helpful for the team and evaluating talent. Wright State coming off a really strong year as well. Would love to get any reports or pic of the scoreboard.

Games cancelled for tomorrow because of the rain that is coming. They are trying to reschedule for next weekend.
