ATHENS – Jason Carter and Tommy Schmock both had season highs in points as Ohio held off Bowling Green 85-78 on Tuesday night at The Convo for its eighth straight win.
Carter finished with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Schmock had 17 points and seven rebounds in his second start of the season. Mark Sears contributed 19 points and six rebounds, and freshman AJ Clayton had a big game off the bench with 12 points, a career high.
Daeqwon Plowden and Myron Gordon scored 18 points each for the Falcons (8-7, 1-3 Mid-American Conference).

With Jason Preston gone to the NBA, Sears scored 27 points and added six rebounds and four assists, and in his return to the Bobcats after two seasons with Xavier, Carter had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Vander Plas contributed 19 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
